Overview For the 3D helmet design we used Auto desk Fusion 360. First we watched a tutorial on all the steps needed to create the helmet. Then we went in Auto desk and created one of our own. Our group had to do a lot of experimenting with the tools given to us because the platform was so new to us. The first step was to create backgrounds for the helmet and get those scaled so we had something to go off of. After creating the outer shell we focused on making the visor. Cutting out the visor was a little tricky but after some playing around with it we go it. Details were added to the helmet as well as color. Through this process of designing the helmet we will be able to apply the knowledge about Auto desk to our capstone project. We can 3D design a long board and brainstorm ideas and concepts. Implementing different things and seeing how they look in a 3D design. Once we have that down we might even take it to the next step and use a 3D design to 3D print something on a smaller scale. Explanation The helmet is equipped with MIPS technology. This technology is to optimize safety and comfort for the user at all times. The helmet reduces rotational force and has a crumple zone at the chin of the helmet that reduces the amount of force applied on it. As well as having safety and comfort, the functionality of the helmet meets requirements of a 105 degree view. There is also nothing that sticks out from the helmet more than 5mm.
